How to apply
In order to apply under this visa category the applicant should first be accepted into an exchange visitor program through a designated sponsoring organization.
When you are accepted into the exchange visitor program you plan to participate in, you will be enrolled in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).
For most of the exchange programs you need to pay the SEVIS fee, however it would not be applicable for your dependents if they are allowed or plan to join you.
You should be given Form DS-2019 from your sponsor to attend the visa interview for all the family members.
